ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, bought the Chinese hospital network for $1.5 billion

ByteDance Ltd., the Chinese company that owns TikTok, has bought Amcare Healthcare, one of the country's largest private hospital chains, for around $1.5 billion. Drowning victim in Peachland identified as 57-year-old man from the lower mainland

The RCMP released more information about the drowning in Peachland on Monday afternoon. Peachland • Drowning • Lower Mainland • Swim Bay • Okanagan Const. RCMP spokesman Mike Della-Paolera told Castanet that a 57-year-old man from the Lower Mainland lost his life swimming at Peachlands Swim Bay shortly after 2 p.m. "This is a sad time for this man's family and friends and the RCMP to mourn this unfortunate accident." The man had been swimming with his friends and family on 6th Street and Beach Avenue when he jumped into the water alone but never reappeared. "About 30 minutes passed before it was determined that he had disappeared, and after all the efforts of the victim's family and friends did not find the man, they contacted the lifeguard who conducted the search," Della-Paolera said.
